| 2001 Mustang Gt |
After ponying up the 10 grand that a used GT calls for, you enter into a world that attracts an unbelievable amount of positive (and negative) attention from people of every age. Nothing turns heads quite like the pictured zinc yellow GT convertible with Flowmaster 40's along a main city road on a hot summer's night.
The SN95 body style greets you with a "take it or leave it" interior. The over-sized in-your-face steering wheel, small rounded out dashboard, and faux hood scoop in the windshield remind you of this coupe's desire to maintain its iconic status. A quick look near the cup-holders points out a nice reminder of the "Cash Only" 40 cent (quarter nickle dime) toll roads with its three coin slots. I have to admit that when I sat in the car for the first time I felt like I was sitting on it and not in it. The bubble-butt feeling eventually faded into a welcomed muscle car feel that will win your heart over time.
Don't expect the Mustang to handle like a Nissan 300ZX or its body to remain flex-free as it is lifted into into the air. Just know that the archaic SOHC V-8 will rocket you to 60 miles per hour in under 6 seconds and to a respectable quarter mile in the 14's (stock) while turning the heads of all who know/will know the sound of American muscle.
